Jay Cutler was 21-of-37 for 192 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception for the Broncos (4-2). Denver, which has dropped two of its last three contest, got a solid game from running back Michael Pittman, who gained 109 yards on 20 carries. "We're 4-2. There's no need for everyone to panic or anything," said Cutler. "We still have New England next week and a bye after that. So we can rest a little bit. We just have to go back to the film and look at it, be critical and move on." Pittman got a lot of work because of a groin injury to Selvin Young. The Broncos also missed wide receiver Eddie Royal, who is hampered by an ankle injury. Brandon Marshall had nine receptions for 98 yards for the Broncos, who were hurt by three turnovers. "Always when you take the football away from somebody it's big," said Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio. "You have to protect the football as much as possible. We were plus-two today. Winning the turnover battle is important to us." Jones-Drew took a handoff and ran a sweep to the left and into the end zone from one yard out to give Jacksonville a 10-7 lead with 2:58 left in the first half. The Jaguars needed 12 plays to march 75 yards for the go-ahead score. Jacksonville got the ball as the result of a Marshall fumble, which was recovered by Drayton Florence and returned 18 yards to the Jags' 25. Jacksonville increased its lead to 17-7 on the first offensive series of the second half. Jones-Drew rushed straight up the middle for a 46-yard touchdown run, capping a three-play, 80-yard drive which took up just 1:13 of clock. Denver added a field goal to its total, as Matt Prater drilled a 39-yard kick with 8:40 left in the third quarter. Pittman picked up 20 yards on a handoff to help setup Prater's attempt, which concluded a 13-play, 59-yard march. Garrard and the Jaguars answered right back to increase the advantage to 24-10 with 3:48 left in the third. The Jacksonville quarterback hooked up with Marcedes Lewis for a 30-yard pass down the middle, ending with the tight end going untouched into the end zone. Garrard was 4-for-5 during the nine-play, 79-yard drive. With 9:19 left in the game, Cutler threw a strike over the middle to tight end Daniel Graham for an 11-yard touchdown. Denver forced the Jaguars to punt on the ensuing possession, but the Broncos went three-and-out, and Jacksonville held the ball for the final 5:46, gaining four first downs. Garrard scrambled for four yards on a 3rd-and-2 play, and later on a 3rd-and-4, Jones-Drew busted up the middle for six yards with under three minutes remaining. A Fred Taylor run for a first down deep in Denver territory sealed the victory, as the Broncos were without a timeout at the two-minute warning. The Broncos scored on the opening possession of the contest to take an early 7-0 lead. Cutler orchestrated a 10-play, 80-yard stretch which ate up 5:27 of the clock. Cutler found Brandon Stokley for an 11-yard pass to the left for the score. Denver's starting quarterback completed all seven of his pass attempts during the march.
