Friday, October 10, 2008
Allen Park, MI -- (Sports Network) - Detroit Lions quarterback Jon Kitna missed his third straight practice on Friday with a bad back, leaving his status for Sunday's showdown with the Minnesota Vikings up in the air.Kitna, officially listed as doubtful, had to leave Sunday's 34-7 loss to Chicago because of back spasms. Dan Orlovsky replaced the veteran signal- caller and connected on 13-of-23 passes for 97 yards and an interception in defeat. Kitna has completed 68-of-120 passes for 758 yards with five touchdowns and five interceptions for the winless Lions (0-4) this season. Either Orlovsky or Drew Stanton will get the starting nod against Minnesota if Kitna's back does not improve. Additionally, Detroit's best two receivers are listed as questionable, as Calvin Johnson (knee) and Roy Williams (hip) both missed practice on Friday. Cornerback Travis Fisher is also listed as questionable with a knee injury.
