Chiefs, Lions Swap First-Round Picks

POSTED: 5:02 pm EDT April 26, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Kansas City Chiefs and Detroit Lions pulled off a trade Saturday, swapping mid-first-round picks in the 2008 NFL Draft.

The Chiefs sent the 17th pick in the first round, along with third and fifth- round picks to Detroit in exchange for the 15th overall pick and Detroit's third-round selection.

With the 15th pick, Kansas City took Virginia offensive lineman Branden Albert, who projects as a standout at either guard or tackle in the NFL. The Lions dropped back only two spots, but picked up their offensive lineman of choice, tackle Gosder Cherilus from Boston College.
