49ers Sign WR Johnson

POSTED: 4:27 pm EDT March 17, 2008

(Sports Network) - The San Francisco 49ers signed wide receiver Bryant Johnson on Monday. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Johnson, who was the 17th overall pick in the 2003 NFL Draft by Arizona, has played in 77 career games, and has recorded 210 receptions for 2,675 yards and nine touchdowns, all with the Cardinals

"Bryant is a player that we have been familiar from our division contests against Arizona," Niners head coach Mike Nolan said. "He has been very productive when given the opportunity and we are excited to have him as a member of the 49ers."

"Bryant is a young, talented player," general manager Scot McCloughan added. "He brings big-play capabilities to the offense and we feel he will bring in an added dimension to the talent we already have on board."
