Texans Add A Pair Of Receivers

Thursday, May 22, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Houston Texans announced several roster moves on Thursday, including the signings of free agent wide receivers Tim Carter and Mark Simmons.

Carter played the first six season of his NFL career with the New York Giants before spending 2007 with the Cleveland Browns, where he caught eight passes for 117 yards and a touchdown. For his career, he has racked up 80 receptions for 1,084 yards and four scores.

Simmons, a Kansas product, was signed by the San Diego Chargers as an undrafted free agent before the 2006 season but has not appeared in a regular season game.

The Texans also waived running back Arliss Beach and placed center Chukky Okobi on the reserve/injured list.
