Toronto, ON -- Calgary Flames forward Ville Nieminen has been suspended one game for a charging incident in Game 4 of his team's Western Conference semifinal series against the Detroit Red Wings, the NHL announced Friday.

Nieminen will miss Saturday afternoon's Game 5 in Detroit. The best-of-seven series is tied 2-2.

The incident occurred when Nieminen charged Detroit goaltender Curtis Joseph at 19:56 of the third period. The left wing was assessed a major penalty for charging and a game misconduct on the play.

Nieminen has two goals and an assist in 11 games this postseason.
