Montreal, Quebec (Sports Network) - The Montreal Canadiens extended qualifying contract offers to restricted free-agent left wing Andrei Kostitsyn and five others on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old Kostitsyn enjoyed a breakout campaign in his first full NHL season, registering 26 goals and 53 points over 78 games for the Canadiens. The native of Novopolotsk, Belarus included an impressive playoff performance with five goals and eight points in 12 contests.

In addition, defensemen Josh Gorges and Ryan O'Byrne, forward Mikhail Grabovski, center Tomas Plekanec and goaltender Jaroslav Halak received offers.
