Pittsburgh Penguins Sweep Series
The second-seeded Pittsburgh Penguins swept its Eastern Conference quarterfinal series on Wednesday night. The team met the Ottawa Senators at Scotiabank Place for game 4 of the best-of-seven set.Evgeni Malkin, Jarkko Ruutu and Sidney Crosby scored the Penguins' three goals.The 3-1 win over the Senators marks the Penguins' first playoff series win since downing Buffalo in the 2001 conference semifinals.The Senators' loss comes just one year after winning the Eastern Conference and making its first-ever trip to the Stanley Cup finals.The Penguins are the first team to advance to the second round of playoffs.
