Penguins Add Two New Faces To Line Up

Thursday, July 3, 2008 – updated: 3:23 pm EDT July 3, 2008

After losing star forward Marian Hossa to the Detroit Redwings on Wednesday, Penguins' general manager Ray Shero has wasted no time in filling the void left by the Slovak-born winger.

Shero signed wingers Miroslav Satan and Ruslan Fedotenko to one year deals on Thursday.

Satan will make $3.5 million next season and Fedotenko will receive $2.5 million for his services.

Both players played for the division rival New York Islanders during the 2007-08 campaign.

Satan, 33, recorded 16 goals and 25 assists in 80 games last season and has scored 685 points in 947 NHL games.

Fedotenko, 29, also scored 16 goals along with 17 assists while appearing in 67 games for the Islanders. Fedotenko missed several games due to a knee injury.

The two skaters are the newest players to come to Pittsburgh since Shero signed rugged forward Eric Godard on Tuesday.
