Coyotes Sign Hobey Baker Winner

(Sports Network) - The Phoenix Coyotes have signed forward Kevin Porter to an entry-level contract. Financial terms of the deal for the 2008 Hobey Baker Award winner were not disclosed.

Porter won college hockey's most prestigious honor after a senior season at Michigan, in which he scored 33 goals with 30 assists for 63 points in just 43 games. The Wolverines captain finished his collegiate career with 85 goals and 98 assists for 183 points 162 games.

The Coyotes selected Porter in the fourth round of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. He will join the club's AHL affiliate in San Antonio for the Calder Cup playoffs.

The Phoenix Coyotes re-signed left winger Daniel Carcillo to a two-year contract, the team announced Tuesday. Per team policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
