Coyotes Sign D Hale

Thursday, July 3, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Phoenix Coyotes signed defenseman David Hale to a two-year contract on Thursday. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 27-year-old Hale had two assists and 46 penalty minutes in 58 regular season games with the Calgary Flames last season, and also appeared in six playoff games for the club.

The 6-foot-1, 208-pounder has 11 assists (no goals) in 215 career games with New Jersey and Calgary. Originally taken 22nd overall by the Devils in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, the North Dakota product was traded from the Devils to Calgary in February 2007.
