Wild's Gaborik Undergoes Surgery

St. Paul, MN -- (Sports Network) - Minnesota Wild forward Marian Gaborik underwent minor arthroscopic surgery on his right hip joint on Friday.The procedure, performed by Dr. Marc J. Philippon at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colorado, was designed to repair a torn labrum and to relieve some impingement in the hip. The surgery was described as a success and Gaborik is expected to remain in Colorado for his initial rehabilitation before returning to the Twin Cities in one to two weeks to continue his treatment. The Slovakian star posted career highs of 42 goals and 83 points in 77 games during 2007-08, and has totaled 206 goals and 208 assists in seven seasons with Minnesota.
