Despite a six hour standoff with police in Clairton Thursday, 24 year-old Leroy Harris, Jr. remains at large.

Police say he murdered two people almost two years ago.

Now the parents of one of those victims is speaking out for the first time about the man accused of killing her son.

Annie Anderson said she never imagined she would have to bury one of her own children. "This is the only son I have left and I treat him like a baby. I wanna know where you're going, call me on the telephone," said Anderson.

She's protective with good reason. Last January her oldest son, 34 year-old James Robertson, a father of seven, was shot and killed along with another man during an argument in McKeesport.

Thursday morning. Allegheny County police tried to serve a warrant to the alleged triggerman, but instead of surrendering, Leroy Harris, Jr. barricaded himself inside his Clairton home.

The standoff put neighbors in fear and a school on lockdown.

Investigators said after firing several rounds at officers, Harris somehow got away.

Anderson said she is not discouraged, in fact, she finds comfort knowing the police are still actively searching for her son's killer. "I said wow they really are trying to find my sons murderer. In my heart I said god forgive me for having so much doubt," said Anderson.

She has learned to rely on the power of prayer to get her and her family through the recent tough times.

Right now she's praying that Harris will do what's right and turn himself in.
