PITTSBURGH -- Police continue to search for a gunman who shot at a student on thursday.

Shots fired at a student on Brushton Avenue put police on alert near a local school Thursday.

The gunshots rang out in front of the Alternative Education Center on Brushton Avenue, which is the old CAPA school, on Thursday.

The shots were aimed at a student who ran and wasn’t hit, according to police.

The student has not been identified and police will not discuss a motive.

Pittsburgh School Police were on campus piecing together eyewitness accounts and previewing what was caught on the school’s exterior surveillance cameras.

Some parents are concerned about the increasing amount of gunfire around the school.

“I mean it’s happened about five times this summer already,” said parent Stacy Fultz.

There are still no leads on who is responsible for the gunfire.
