Pittsburgh Says Goodbye To Former Steeler Dwight White

PITTSBURGH -- Former Pittsburgh Steeler defensive end Dwight White passed away last week, and his funeral will be held Wednesday, June 11, at noon at the Calvary Episcopal Church in Shadyside.

One former teammate in particular, L.C. Greenwood, visited with a member of the media and paid his respects to not only who he considered a great teammate, but a great friend as well.

"It's very tough," Greenwood said about having to handle White's death. "We're still trying to deal with the fact that Dwight is no longer with us. We're all going to miss him."

White was a member of all four Steelers super bowl teams in the '70s, and played in Pittsburgh from 1971-1980.

While White's family is accepting flowers, they are also asking that people make a donation to the August Wilson Center of African-American Culture.
