Decision 2008

Pennsylvania Becomes Battleground For Democrats

Pres. Bush Endorses McCain

Wednesday, March 5, 2008 – updated: 2:52 pm EST March 5, 2008

Pennsylvania suddenly becomes a battleground state for the Democrats as big wins by Sen. Hillary Clinton in Ohio and Texas turn the Keystone State into a major player in the race for the White House.

The wins by Clinton put her back within striking distance of Sen. Barack Obama. Now, both candidates turn their attention to voters in Pennsylvania.

Here's how the delegate scorecard looks on Wednesday:
Obama has 1,451 delegates; Clinton has 1,365.
She gained 23 delegates with Tuesday night's wins; 2,025 delegates are needed for the Democratic nomination.

Also on Wednesday, President George W. Bush endorsed candidate John McCain on the Republican side.
