Channel 11 visited the Secret Service's command center in Pittsburgh for the G-20 Summit. It's a war room, but the Secret Service's mission is to protect and keep the peace.

Channel 11 was sworn not to reveal its location, but the Secret Service was happy to talk about the areas it plans to protect.

"Our experts came in and looked at what we needed to do to secure the David L. Lawrence Convention Center and that was the perimeter they decided we needed to achieve that goal," said Jim Gehr of the Secret Service.

The Secret Service command center has radio contact with every police and emergency crew in a six-county radius, but it's keying in on the city of Pittsburgh.

"We don't really have a level of threat right now. Of course, anything that's going to come in, we're going to address it," said Jeff Killeen of the FBI.

In addition to street patrols, the Secret Service will shut down the railroad tracks surrounding the city Thursday and Friday.

Pennsylvania State Police are on patrol. 1,200 troopers have hit the streets.

"Our aviation unit, K-9 unit bomb squad, special emergency response team, our bicycle unit and our mounted unit our horses are here," said Col. Frank Pawlowski of Pennsylvania State Police.
