PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl, 29, won his first full term in Tuesday’s mayoral election. His challengers were Franco “Dok” Harris and Kevin Acklin. Both ran as Independent candidates.Ravenstahl, his family and friends and supporters celebrated at Mullen’s on the North Shore. They gathered there Tuesday evening before the results were announced."It’s going to be different for me," Ravenstahl said. "I've been running for office ever since I took it and now, to have a four-year term ahead of us is very exciting. I think the future is bright for Pittsburgh, and we look forward to continuing, what I believe, is a lot of positive momentum.""Please join me as we start a movement and end a campaign, and we build each and every one of us a city of yes," Harris told the crowd during his concession speech. ""We stand on the shoulders of generations of Pittsburghers who came before us," Acklin said during his recession speech. "We've inherited from them a great city and an even greater responsibility, one from which we cannot turn away, from which we will not walk away, simply because we did not win this election."Earlier Tuesday, with his family by his side, the Democrat voted at a church on East Street. “We feel good about the campaign, and we feel good about what we’ve done over the past three years,” said Ravenstahl.
