File includes participation and sponsor forms.WPCI provides patients with exceptional cancer care from diagnosis through every phase of treatment and follow-up care. While we are proud to offer patients the most leading-edge research, equipment and facilities, we want to do more for our patients and their families. We want to create for our patients and their families the most caring and comfortable environment possible to aid in their recovery. The environment in which treatment is delivered is crucial in promoting a positive patient state of mind, feelings of well-being and a sense of being well cared for.Rich will serve as the master of ceremonies at the golf outing in July.

The environment in which treatment is delivered is crucial in promoting a positive patient state of mind, feelings of well-being and a sense of being well cared for.We want to purchase specialized furnishings for our patients and their families who require inpatient stays on our T7 unit (Bone Marrow Transplant, Hematology and Oncology Unit). Items to be purchased include chairbeds for families, televisions, window blinds and painted ceiling tiles for each patient room. The unit will be painted and new artwork will be displayed. Additional items for patient use would include portable game systems, exercise equipment and two computer work stations with a common printer. We also plan to update the waiting area with a new couch and lounge chairs as well as an expanded area for patient information and construction of an outdoor meditation garden in honor of a former patient. To help us with these efforts, the family and friends of Thomas “T” J. Walsh, a former patient of The Western Pennsylvania Cancer Institute, have organized this golf outing. T’s son Rich Walsh, WPXI sportscaster, will serve as the Master of Ceremonies. We would be delighted if you would consider supporting this event as a sponsor and/or by participating as a golfer.
