PITTSBURGH -- WARRIOR SPECIAL FILMING EVENT

The production of WARRIOR announces a special community event on Saturday, May 30th, that offers locals a chance to join the film’s stars, MMA champions and pro athletes to make Pittsburgh movie history on the set of the film and benefits the Pittsburgh Fallen Heroes Fund.

WARRIOR is a Lionsgate action/drama being shot in and primarily set in Pittsburgh, starring Tom Hardy, Joel Edgerton, Jennifer Morrison, and Nick Nolte against the backdrop of the brutal, high-stakes world of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). The film also features Pittsburgh local hero Kurt Angle.

Attendees will have an opportunity to be in the audience in the film, participating in the filming of a large arena crowd scene. Please see below for rules and regulations involving participation.

Additionally, the production will make a donation for each extra attending the filming to the Pittsburgh Fallen Heroes Fund, and looks forward to announcing the total donation amount, which will depend on community turn out, after the event.

Special events have been planned for the day, including up to $25,000 in prizes being raffled to fans. Prizes will include iPods, flat screen televisions, and one lucky fan will drive off in a new 2009 Ford Ranger truck.

About WARRIOR:

An ex-Marine haunted by a tragic past, Tommy Riordan returns to his hometown of Pittsburgh and enlists his father, a recovered alcoholic and his former coach, to train him for an MMA tournament awarding the biggest purse in the history of the sport. As Tommy blazes a violent path towards the title prize, his brother, Brendan, a former MMA fighter unable to make ends meet as a public school teacher, returns to the amateur ring to provide for his family. Even though years have passed, recriminations and past betrayals keep Brendan bitterly estranged from both Tommy and his father. But when Brendan’s unlikely rise as an underdog sets him on a collision course with Tommy, the two brothers must finally confront the forces that tore them apart, all the while waging the most intense, winner-takes-all battle of their lives.

Rules and Regulations to participate:

Extras must be 18 or older or be accompanied by their parent / legal guardian. Extras must sign a filming release in order to gain entry. Raffle prizes to be announced at venue. Odds of winning depend on number of entries received. Must be present to win. Major prizes won by a minor will be awarded to the minor’s accompanying parent / legal guardian. Major prize winners (or their parent / legal guardian if winner is a minor) will need to sign documents as a condition of receiving the prize.
