Los Angeles Lakers (30-19) At Detroit Pistons (29-18), 8 P.m.
(Sports Network) - The Detroit Pistons aim for their fifth straight win when they resume a five-game homestand this evening versus the Los Angeles Lakers at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Detroit opened the homestand with Tuesday's 109-102 win over the Boston Celtics, as Chauncey Billups led six Piston players in double figures with 24 points and also dished out seven assists. Antonio McDyess has 18 points, while Tayshaun Prince and Chris Webber both had 17 points for Central Division-leading Detroit, which has won eight of 10 and improved to 14-9 at The Palace this season. Richard Hamilton and Carlos Delfino scored 10 points apiece in the win. The Pistons will also host the Raptors, Clippers and Spurs on the homestand. Meanwhile, Los Angeles will continue an eight-game road trip and are 3-2 so far on the swing. On Monday Kobe Bryant scored 11 of his 27 points in the final quarter, as the Lakers held off the Atlanta Hawks, 90-83, at Philips Arena. Lamar Odom scored 15 points and grabbed 18 rebounds for the Lakers, who have won three of their last four games. Andrew Bynum added 14 points and 10 boards for Los Angeles, which is 11-13 away from home this season and second in the Pacific standings. The Lakers will also visit Toronto and Cleveland on the current trek. Thursday's showdown between Detroit and LA is the second and final meeting of the regular season. The Pistons posted a 97-83 triumph on November 10 at the Staples Center, and has won five of the last six matchups. The Lakers have lost four straight after winning their last nine at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
