PITTSBURGH -- Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato and Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl announced on Monday a Pittsburgh Penguins rally will be held in Market Square at 12:00 noon on Friday, May 9. The Mayor and County Executive called on all fans to "Pack the Square" and to wear black & gold on Friday as the Penguins get ready to face the Philadelphia Flyers for game one of the Eastern Conference finals."I encourage all fans to show their Pittsburgh Pride and pack the Square this Friday," said Ravenstahl. "With thousands of loyal fans waving their white towels in the Square, we will really send a strong message to that team in Philly.""We want Market Square bursting at the seams at noon on Friday to let the people on the other side of the state know we're ready for this showdown," said Onorato. "Only one team from Pennsylvania can make it to the Stanley Cup finals, and it's going to be the Penguins."Onorato and Ravenstahl are also working on a friendly wager with Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter. Details will be announced later this week.
