Shoulder Injury Could Sideline Parker

Posted: 8:13 am EST November 7, 2008

(Sports Network) - Pittsburgh Steelers running back Willie Parker missed practice Thursday with a shoulder injury and could sit out Sunday's game against Indianapolis.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Friday morning that Parker will not play Sunday, missing a game for the fifth time this season.

Parker returned to the lineup for Monday's game against Washington after missing four games because of a sprained left knee, but apparently hurt his shoulder against the Redskins.

Despite the shoulder problem, Parker was able to finish Monday's game and ran for 70 yards on 21 carries with a touchdown in the 23-6 victory.

Parker, in just four games this season, leads the Steelers with 333 rushing yards and has scored four touchdowns. He recorded a pair of 100-yard games in the first two weeks of the season before suffering the knee injury in Week 3 against Philadelphia.
