PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Clark is being honored by his team for overcoming challenges facing him.Clark was named the Steelers' choice for the 2008 Ed Block Courage Award on Tuesday.The award is presented annually to a current Steelers player who has demonstrated courage, overcoming challenges both on and off the field.Midway through last season, Clark suffered an inflamed spleen and had to have surgery.Ryan clark/steelers safety"It means a lot, signifies that I'm still here," said Clark. "That God brought me a very tough time, and it's an award given to you by your peers, your teammates, so it's a blessing. It's a really nice thing."Clark was honored at Holy Family Institute's Arthur J. Sr. Courage House luncheon at Heinz Field.The luncheon raises money for children and family served by the Holy Family Institute.
