Washington Capitals head coach Bruce Boudreau said he doesn't believe the threat against Ovechkin will be a distraction for his team.“I don’t even know if Alex knew about (the threat) the last game,” said Boudreau. “I’m pretty sure that the rest of the team didn’t know about it.”“It should be done today, so I don’t think it poses an issue,” he said. The Capitals and Penguins will play Game 4 of their Eastern Conference semi-final series Friday at 7 p.m. at Mellon Arena. On Wednesday night Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg responded to an address on Newcomer Road in Franklin County to assist with a terroristic threat investigation. This investigation involved a threatening message that was posted on a Pittsburgh Penguins message board directed at Ovechkin, police said.As a result of the investigation, a laptop computer was seized, and the occupants of the residence were identified and accounted for, police said.Police told Channel 11's Marc Willis that a 17-year-old Chambersburg boy posted the threat on the Web site Wednesday. The threat said, "I'm killing Ovechkin. I'll go to jail. I don't care anymore," police said. The Penguins released the following statement on Thursday:"We were notified of the message and immediately turned over all information to the authorities."A short time later the Washington Capitals released this statement:"We became aware of an inappropriate comment on a message board and referred it to appropriate authorities. We appreciate their diligence and have every confidence in our club's safety."The Capitals star forward has scored in every game in the playoff series against the Pens, including the first goal in Wednesday night's game.Pens fans, standing outside of the Capitals' hotel for autographs downtown, said threatening a player's life goes too far."I think that it's stupid and that the Penguins fans are just frustrated about the Penguins losing but you know some fans are crazy and some aren't and one of the crazy fans is obviously making these remarks," said fan Dennis Rebinovich."I've been standing out here all day trying to get his autograph, and he hasn't been very nice, but that's still no reason to threaten someone's life," said Ovechkin fan Jonathan Cohen.
