Roethlisberger's 'No Top Ropes' WWE Event Tonight

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is set to guest host WWE's "Monday Night Raw" tonight in Wilkes-Barre, but he's telling Steelers fans not to worry.

The Steelers defeated the San Diego Chargers 38-28 Sunday night, so Roethlisberger is making the trip with less than 24 hours rest.

On Thursday, Roethlisberger talked to Channel 11 News, saying he wasn't going to be doing anything crazy on the show.

"I'm not coming off any top ropes or anything. Don't be freaking out," Roethlisberger said. "I'm not going to be doing anything crazy."

When asked if he was to choose a finishing move, Roethlisberger said, "I was trying to work on it with Chris Kemoeautu. I was going to cut off the side rope jump and he was going to catch me and spin me around. We were calling it the helicopter kick. And I was going to take everybody out."

In the end, Roethlisberger said he doesn't know yet exactly what he'll be doing in the wrestling event. He said he gets his script Friday.

Last week, when the mention of Roethlisberger appearing on the show came to head coach Mike Tomlin's attention, he didn't seem too thrilled.

"I mean, it's an off day," Roethlisberger said. "I talked to him (coach Mike Tomlin) about it, but I didn't really ask permission. I kind of went and talked to him and got a feel for if he was going to have a big problem. I figured he would tell me. But like I said, it's our off day."

Other members of the offensive line are expected to join Big Ben at the RAW show, according to the WWE's Web site. The event is being held at the Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza.

The announcement should come as no surprise to Roethlisberger fans, as he is known to frequent WWE events in Pittsburgh.
