Steelers Design, Sign Football Helmets For Townsend's Charity

Pittsburgh Steelers designed and signed football helmets for Deshea Townsend's Pay it Forward Foundation Monday.

The players designed the helmets for an event to be held Monday night.

Townsend will host a "Black & Gold Art Show," at Tusca Tappas in Pittsburgh.

The event will showcase the football helmets, which will be auctioned off to benefit the Pay It Forward Foundation.

Players participating in the auction include Hines Ward, Troy Polamalu, Brett Keisel, James Farrior, Santonio Holmes, James Harrison, Ike Taylor, Ryan Clark, Jeff Reed and Casey Hampton. Coach Dick LeBeau and former Steeler Jerome Bettis are also lending their creativity to the cause.

The Pay It Forward Foundation was founded by Deshea Townsend in 2009. The organization provides free health care clinics and SAT/ACT tutoring for underprivileged students in Batesville, Mississippi, Townsend's hometown, and Pittsburgh.
