PITTSBURGH -- Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger traveled overseas to visit Switzerland on Friday.

"I only recently began researching my personal Swiss roots, but I'm making up for lost time," said Roethlisberger just before his trip.

Big Ben’s great-great-grandfather is from Emmental, Switzerland.

Roethlisberger’s family trip to the country known for cheese and chocolate will also include stops in Lucerne and Bern.

Big Ben will be promoting Swissroots.org, a genealogy tracing Web site, when he returns from his international journey.
