North Allegheny, Aliquippa, Clairton football teams will go for state titles

PITTSBURGH — North Allegheny, Aliquippa and Clairton will compete in the PIAA football championships at Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, Pa. this weekend.

Clairton, A, will play Dunmore at 1 p.m. on Friday.

Aliquippa, AA, will take on Wyomissing Area at 12 p.m. on Saturday.

North Allegheny, AAAA, will play Coatesville Area at 6 p.m. on Saturday.

The three WPIAL teams won their PIAA semifinal games last weekend.

Aliquippa beat Richland at North Allegheny 37-21.

Clairton defeated Port Allegany at Deer Lakes 44-12.

North Allegheny triumphed over Wilson 45-10 in Saturday's game.

North Allegheny is this year's WPIAL AAAA champion. It is the first AAAA school to win three straight WPIAL championships in a row.

Aliquippa is the WPIAL AA champion. This year's win gives the Quips 15 WPIAL championship titles.

Clairton won its fifth consecutive WPIAL A title this year.

West Allegheny is this year's WPIAL AAA champion. The team lost to Erie Cathedral Prep in the PIAA quarterfinals.
