SEOUL, South Korea — According to the South Korean News Agency Yonhap, Pirates infielder Jung Ho Kang now has an appeals hearing set, in his effort to obtain a visa to re-enter the United States and resume his baseball career. The appeal is set for May 25.
The U.S. Embassy in South Korea denied Kang’s application for a work visa because of his third DUI conviction in South Korea. Kang received a suspended prison sentence of 8 months for his recent DUI conviction. He is hoping that under an appeal he can reduce the sentence and then get his visa.
