Kang Applying For U.S. Work Visa In Dominican Republic

According to a report by Korean media outlet Daum.net, Jung Ho Kang is making another attempt to return to the United States.

The report states that Kang returned to the Dominican Republic to get an American employment visa from the U.S. Embassy there.   Kang has been unable to get that visa since his third DUI conviction in South Korea.  Kang received a suspended prison sentence after the conviction.

Kang played in the Dominican Republic briefly in November, but did not have much success on the field, and he was released.

Pirates management recently said they don’t expect Kang to return this season.

Kang played for the Pirates in 2015 and 2016, batting .273, and hitting 120 RBIs along with 36 home runs.
