Pirates charity announces second round of 'Fields for Kids' grant recipients

The pirates charities announced the second round of grant recipients for the "Fields for Kids" program on Tuesday.

The Fields for Kids program provides financial support to improve youth baseball and softball facilities.

A total of 21 organizations in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia were awarded the grant.

The Hampton Athletic Association in Pittsburgh, that serves more than 550 kids, received the largest grant at $25,000.

The following organizations in Pennsylvania were also awarded grants:

Allegheny County:

  • South Park Baseball Association
  • Brad Mar Pine Baseball and Softball Association
  • Urban Impact Foundation

Washington County:

  • Washington Township Youth Athletic Association
  • Canon Mac Youth Girls Softball Association
  • TWIST, Inc.

Fayette County:

  • Fairchance Youth League
  • Perry Area Youth Baseball and Softball League

Butler County:

  • Seneca Valley North Athletic Association
  • Adams Township Baseball

Beaver County:

  • Baden Youth Association
  • Riverside Girls Athletic Association

Elk County:

  • Johnsonburg Little League

Jefferson County:

  • Big Run Youth Baseball

Lawrence County:

  • Laurel Athletic Recreation Association
  • The City of New Castle

Westmoreland County:

  • Mount Pleasant Area Little League
  • Delmont Area Athletic Association
