MONDAY UPDATE: NFL.com is reporting the Browns will indeed hire Todd Haley as offensive coordinator.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Multiple reports have linked former Pittsburgh Steelers’ offensive coordinator Todd Haley with another team in the AFC North: the Cleveland Browns.

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported Sunday that the Browns were engaged in “serious talks” with Haley about becoming their new offensive coordinator.

Mary Kay Cabot, the Browns beat writer for Cleveland.com, also confirmed that the Browns are trying to hire Haley.

TRENDING NOW:

Haley served as Pittsburgh’s offensive coordinator since 2012. Under Haley, the Steelers ranked in the top five in the NFL in yards per play and passing yards per game.

The Steelers were sixth in the league in total yards per game in that span.

The Browns, led by head coach Hue Jackson, did not have an offensive coordinator during the 2017 season.
