Steelers announce 2018 opening weekend festivities

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers start the 2018 season on the road against Cleveland, but when the team returns home the next week, there will be a party atmosphere surrounding the game.

On Wednesday, the team announced the opening weekend festivities at Heinz Field.

The Steelers take on the Kansas City Chiefs at 1 p.m. on Sept. 16.

The Steelers Kickoff Concert Series, presented by UPMC and PNC, takes place Friday at Stage AE.

Fans will get to enjoy music by The Wild Feathers, Jameson Rodgers and Kip Moore. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are already on sale.

Golf fans will be able to get a look at the Ryder Cup trophy at Heinz Field on game day.

Ryder Cup captain and Steelers season ticket holder Jim Furyk will lead the Terrible Towel twirl before the game.
