Penguins announce regular-season individual ticket sales, theme nights

PITTSBURGH — Regular-season individual tickets for 2016-17 Pittsburgh Penguins games at CONSOL Energy Center will go on sale Friday morning, the Penguins announced Wednesday.

Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m., with approximately 2,000 tickets available for each game.

Fans can purchase tickets online at ticketmaster.com, at the DICK’S Sporting Goods Box Office at CONSOL Energy Center or by calling 1-800-745-3000.

The Penguins will open the season with the 2016 Stanley Cup banner-raising ceremony when the team takes on the Washington Capitals on Oct. 13. (CLICK HERE for the Penguins' full regular-season schedule.)

In addition to announcing individual ticket sales, the Penguins announced the following special theme nights for the team’s 50th anniversary season:

  • Oct. 13 vs. Anaheim – The team will raise its fourth Stanley Cup banner. There will be a special on-ice ceremony with the Cup and a pre-game video tribute to Penguins history on opening night.
  • Oct. 15 vs. Anaheim – "The Early Years," featuring players from the 1967-76 teams, as well as original Penguins owner Jack McGregor. The team also will have an old Zamboni Model F ice resurfacer on display for fans.
  • Dec. 3 vs. Detroit – "Back to Back Stanley Cup Champions," honoring members of the 1991 and 1992 Cup teams, including Mario Lemieux.
  • Jan. 8 vs. Tampa Bay – "Cup for a New Generation," featuring members of the 2009 Stanley Cup team.
  • Feb. 3 vs. Columbus – "Alumni Salute," honoring a multitude of Penguins alumni through the years.
