Penguins players spread holiday cheer at Children's Hospital

LAWRENCEVILLE — After putting smiles on the faces of fans with seven straight wins, the Penguins players were at Children’s Hospital Thursday making patients smile.

It was the annual holiday visit to the Lawrenceville hospital. Players go from room to room, meeting with patients and their families, signing autographs and posing for pictures.

"I think we admire the courage that they have and what they're going through,” said team captain Sidney Crosby. “For them to be concerned with us says a lot about them. We're happy to be here and it puts things in perspective pretty quick."

Crosby, Marc-Andre Fleury, Eric Fehr and Olli Maatta didn’t show up empty-handed. They brought gifts for the patients as well.
