Conor Sheary and the Pittsburgh Penguins have avoided arbitration and agreed to a new three-year contract worth $9 million.
Sheary was scheduled to have his arbitration hearing Thursday.

The winger is coming off a breakout season where he netted 23 goals in 61 games for the Penguins. Most of his production came during even-strength play, where he was one of the most productive players in the NHL on a per-minute basis.
Sheary is the last of the Penguins' restricted free agents to sign a new deal.
