WINTER OLYMPICS: Kyle Mack wins silver in big air snowboarding, U.S. skiing fizzles out

PYEONGCHANG, South Korea — 10:30 PM: Alpine skiing team event: Ted Ligety, Michaela Shiffrin, and Lindsay Vonn all did not participate in the first every bracket-style team event for the United States. Team USA, without its best skiers, lost in the first round to Great Britain.

9:30 PM: Men's big air snowboarding: American Kyle Mack surprised everyone when he landed all three runs and snagged the silver medal. Red Gerard, the 17-year-old American who won gold in slopestyle, fell on his final run -- eliminating him from a chance at a medal.

Friday's competition in PyeongChang includes Alpine Skiing's Team Event, Men's Snowboarding, the Four-Man Bobsled and Men's Speed Skating.

In speed skating, the men's 1000m features two-time Olympic Champion Shani Davis and his U.S. Teammate Joey Mantia taking on the dominant Dutch.
