Alan Jennings is a veteran reporter for Channel 11 News
Alan arrived at Channel 11 in December of 1998. He was a member of the Target 11 Investigative Unit for nearly five years. A native of Buffalo, New York, Alan attended Canisius College, and Bryant & Stratton in New York. He is recognized as an Honor Graduate of the United States Air Force Training Command.
Alan started his television career as a news writer for WKBW-TV in Buffalo, New York. He was a radio news anchor and helicopter traffic reporter for WKBW-AM. Alan worked in radio at KDKA-AM, 96KIX-FM, WAMO-FM, and WWSW-AM in Pittsburgh, PA. He was a network news director/ anchor for USA Radio Network in Dallas, Texas, and was the host of "Jennings Journal." Before joining Channel 11, Alan was an investigative reporter for both KDKA-AM, and WTAE-TV.
Over the years, Alan has received more than 30 awards, many for Investigative Reporting, including several Golden Quill awards, Associated Press awards, Ed King Memorial awards, and named the Best Reporter in America by United Press International. He is honored to be the recipient of two Edward R. Murrow Awards for excellence in television and radio journalism.
The most memorable story of Alan's career was the Monica Lewinsky story, for which he had an exclusive interview with a retired Secret Service officer. The interview revealed information regarding Lewinsky's relationship with President Clinton, and was played for the Federal Grand Jury.
Alan says, "I've always been fascinated with digging for the truth; to accomplish that end is literally what I live for as a journalist." He adds, "WPXI-TV is a television news organization dedicated to keeping its viewers on top of all the news. I am honored to be part of the Channel 11 News team."
