Carly Noel
Carly Noel has been at WPXI-TV since 2004 and joined the station's web department as the Internet Multimedia Specialist in 2006. She was the first person to take on such a role in the Pittsburgh market and Cox Media Group, which owns and operates WPXI-TV.
Carly produces, writes, shoots and edits original entertainment content for See & Be Seen, a popular section on WPXI.com that she created. Over the years, Carly has interviewed a number of celebrities; her favorites include Donald Trump, Jimmy Fallon and her childhood crush, Joey McIntyre. She had the cool opportunity of spending a week with Tom Cruise, taking photos of him while he was in Pittsburgh filming a movie.
Carly also produces news, sports and high school content for WPXI.com. She created and produces High School Shows and extensively works on Skylights, the No. 1 provider of high school football coverage in the Pittsburgh area.
Carly's individual and team honors include: 2012 Golden Quill Award for Online Videography, 2012 Golden Quill Award for Most Creative Use of Technology to Tell a Story, 2012 Golden Quill Award for Best Television Website, 2012 Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters Award for Best Television Website, 2011 Regional (Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey) Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Television Website, 2011 Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters Award for Best Television Website, 2011 Golden Quill Award for Online Multimedia News, 2011 Golden Quill Finalist for Online Multimedia Feature and 2011 Golden Quill Finalist for Online Multimedia Video.
Prior to joining the web department, Carly was a producer and writer in WPXI-TV’s news department. She produced several newscasts, including the weekday 10 O’Clock News on Fox 53 and the weekend 6 and 11 p.m. on Channel 11. Carly was also a television news reporter at WJAC-TV in Johnstown.
Born and raised in the Pittsburgh area, the North Allegheny High School graduate didn't travel far for college. Carly graduated from Duquesne University in 2003, where she double majored in English and Communications and was a cheerleader.
Carly spends her free time with her family and Pomeranian, Teddy. She's an avid sports fan and enjoys traveling.
"I love what I do. I began pursuing a journalism career when I was in high school. It has been a long road to get to where I am now, but the journey was just as great as the success. I'm absolutely thankful for everyone who helped me along the way."
