Going Green: Mall At Robinson Downsizes Trash

ROBINSON TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Going Green is Channel 11’s effort to keep you informed about local efforts to save the environment.Wednesday, Channel 11 spotlighted the Mall at Robinson and its energy efficient and environmentally conscious.On any given day the mall generates hundreds of pounds of trash, so they installed two huge compactors to downsize the amount sent to landfills.The mall also uses green cleaning chemicals instead of harsher chemicals.They have an energy management system that turns off the lights when no one is using them.The mall also has a recycling day scheduled for November.Learn more from WPXI.com's Going Green section.
