Washington Co. Outlet Mall Set To Open Friday

Workers are putting the finishing touches on the new Tanger Outlet Center which will celebrate its grand opening this Friday, Aug. 29, in Washington County.

Located near the Meadows Racetrack and Casino in South Strabane Township, the new $90 million outlet mall will be home to 75 designer and brand-name stores and restaurants.

Officials are anticipating 4.5 million visitors a year at the mall.

Former Steeler Jerome Bettis will be there for the ribbon-cutting, along with other state and local dignitaries. Other events at the grand opening will include a parade, a Ferris wheel, carnival-style games and a sidewalk sale.

The Washington County Tourism Promotion Agency will operate a booth to answer shoppers’ questions.

Located on Interstate 79, Exit 41, just 20 miles south of downtown Pittsburgh, the new Tanger Outlet Center in Washington, PA features 75 upscale outlet brands including American Eagle Outfitters, Banana Republic Factory Store, Brooks Brothers Factory Store, Children’s Place, Coach Factory Store, Gap Outlet, Harry and David, Nike Factory Store, Nine West Outlet, Old Navy, Skechers, Timberland Factory Store, Tommy Hilfiger Company Store, Wilson’s Leather Outlet and many more of the most popular outlet brands.
