Karen Welles is a veteran Target 11 Investigator for Channel 11 News.Karen came to Channel 11 in August of 1990 as a part-time reporter, and joined the Target 11 Investigative Unit in November of 2002. A native of the Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania area, Karen earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Wilkes College, with concentrations in communications, writing, and literature. She started her career at WCLH Radio while in college. Karen worked at WBRE Radio, and WILK Radio, and then started her television career as a news anchor and reporter at WNEP-TV. Karen is married with three children.
As a Target 11 Investigator, Karen has gained recognition on many stories, including a series about marine recruiting.
