Harlem Globetrotters

The Harlem Globetrotters are back for the 36th Annual WPXI Holiday Parade! WPXI is proud to have two Pennsylvania natives representing the group, Ace Jackson and Handles Franklin.

Jackson is the 13th female player in the 90 year history of the Globetrotters and is one of three females currently on the team. Jackson got her start with The Globetrotters after attending a basketball camp conducted by Handles Franklin, a Globetrotter veteran who also grew up in our state capital.

Franklin says he is “truly living a dream” as a Globetrotter, which he aspired to be since he was young. Throughout his nine seasons with the team, Franklin has had the opportunity to play at an All-Star Celebrity Game on ESPN. Franklin also had the opportunity to play with President Barack Obama during the annual White House Easter Egg Role.

This is the Globetrotters 9th decade of entertaining families and local communities with their basketball wizardry, and we can't wait to see what tricks they have planned for the parade this year!

The Globetrotters will be returning to Pittsburgh December 26th for a show at PPG Paints Arena! For more information and tickets go to www.harlemglobetrotters.com.
