Pittsburgh's Heinz Field: Know before you go

Pittsburgh's Heinz Field is home of the NFL's Steelers. The stadium, which opened in August 2001, spans 1.49 million square feet and can seat up to 65,500 fans. The stadium is owned by the Sports & Exhibition Authority of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County.

Along with Steelers games, Heinz Field is where the University of Pittsburgh Panthers football team plays. The venue also holds major events throughout the year that range from concerts to the annual Heinz Field Kickoff and Rib Festival.

Tickets

Steelers regular season tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster or NFL Ticket Exchange. Ticket prices vary depending on the game and opponent.
 
Location and Directions
Heinz Field is located in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh at 100 Art Rooney Ave.

From 279 Parkway North
Follow I-279 South to the North Shore exit (Heinz Field/PNC Park).
Follow Reedsdale to the second traffic light
Make a left onto Allegheny Avenue
Follow North Shore Drive to stadium

From the Pennsylvania Turnpike
Take the Monroeville exit toward Pittsburgh
Follow I-376 to Exit 70C (North Shore ramp/Fort Duquesne Bridge)
Keep left on Fort Duquesne Bridge to Heinz Field/North Shore

There are several public parking lots and garages within walking distance of the stadium, Parking prices range from $5 to $20.

Stadium Tours

Heinz Field offers public tours from April to October that gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at the stadium that includes its luxury boxes, press box and the field. Tours are typically 90 minutes long and require a lot of walking. Tickets are $8 per adult, $7 for children ages 5 to 17, and free for children ages 4 and under.

Tour schedule:

April and May – Mondays and Fridays at noon
June, July and August – Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 10 a.m. and noon
September and October – Mondays and Fridays at 10 a.m.
 
Concessions and Retail:

Fans won't go hungry at Heinz Field with almost 50 different concessions from which to choose. With food options ranging from stadium staples like hot dogs and french fries to fresh seafood and traditional cheesesteaks, there is something for everyone.

There are seven team stores and 15 novelty stands throughout the stadium that are full of merchandise, including Terrible Towels, jerseys and miniature footballs, so fans can take home the perfect souvenir.
