Roethlisberger leads a team of instructors at the Mars Area High School football stadium. About 450 boys and girls from ages 7 to 14 are attending the three-day camp, which costs $249 per child.

For three hours each day, the kids will have a chance to learn the fundamentals of football from the Steelers' quarterback and staff.

"It's fun to see a smile on their faces when they catch a pass or intercept me,” Rothlisberger said. “Just to have the fun … the high fives … it's really something special.”

“In a way I like him here more than on the field on Sunday,” said Big Ben's mother Brenda Roethlisberger. “This is where he really gets to shine. He loves the kids. He loves doing what he's doing, and you get to see the personal side of him that you don't get to see a lot out there. It's much safer on this field.”

At the end of camp each participant gets an autographed team photo, their own T-shirt and a chance to say they played with a two-time Super Bowl winning quarterback.
