PennDOT Releases Weekend Construction Summary

PITTSBURGH -- PennDOT has just released a summary of weekend construction projects. Listed below, we have the major closings and restrictions that may impact your travel.Parkway EastThe right lane and shoulder on the inbound Parkway East remain closed from the Pennsylvania Turnpike to the Penn Hills Interchange. Two inbound lanes remain open.Parkway NorthTraffic on the inbound Parkway North will be reduced to a single lane this weekend from 7 p.m. Friday through 4 p.m. Sunday for concrete patching between Bellevue West View and I-79. No northbound/outbound restrictions are scheduled for this weekend.Route 60 / Parkway WestThe ramp from northbound (outbound) Route 60 (Parkway West) to Montour Run will be closed this weekend, from 8 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday in Robinson Township. The westbound lanes of Montour Runwill also be closed this weekend in the area of the Route 60 overpass. No restrictions will occur on mainline Route 60 this weekend.Route 28Southbound (inbound) Route 28 will be reduced to a single lane this weekend from the Etna Interchange to the Millvale Interchange beginning at 7 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday.Northbound (outbound) Route 28 will be closed to thru-traffic at the Etna Interchange beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday. The closure will continue until late October 2009 to allow crews to remove and replace the bridge that carries northbound Route 28 over the 62nd Street (Robert D. Fleming) Bridge. Traffic will be detoured across the 62nd Street Bridge to Butler Street and back across the Highland Park Bridge.
