30 Days in Jail For Obscene Gesture
A Florida judge sent a woman appearing in his courtroom to the county jail for 30 days after she gave him an obscene gesture. Bond video released by the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court of Florida showed 18-year-old Penelope Soto, who was charged with drug possession, standing before Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Jorge Rodriguez-Chomat on Monday. The judge later asked her if she had used drugs in the last 24 hours. She replied, "Actually, no."
