Citing “well connected Democrats,” the website The Daily Beast is reporting that Rahm Emanuel has had talks with key donors and party leaders about a possible 2016 presidential run. The Chicago mayor has said repeatedly he is not interested in the job.
Still, UIC political professor Dick Simpson says it’s not out of the question he could pull it off.
“It is possible he could be elected,” he said. “He might like to be elected, but it’s a very difficult road even for Rahm Emanuel.”
