War Crimes Suspect Clear to Run For Kenyan Presidency

Jubilant supporters of Uhuru Kenyatta celebrate outside the Kenyan High Court on Friday. Inside the judge has ruled he can run in the upcoming presidential elections. Kenyatta and his running mate William Ruto are accused by the International Criminal Court of orchestrating tribal violence that killed 1,200 people after the last vote in 2007. The judge said that under the Rome Statute, the ICC and the Kenyan courts cannot simultaneously adjudicate on the same matter.
